Chevereto makes it easy to upload images (as seen above), and also to share them with other people, and even keeps analytics for you:

The list of features is huge. Chevereto can display albums for various different uses – personal/private sharing, real estate, product photographs and more, so it straddles the line between personal software and commercial software.

The code for Chevereto is AGPL licensed and easy to read and inspect, along with a commercial license available if you'd like to get more support and custom configuration.

There's detailed documentation on how to run Chevereto, along with documentation for the admin console and a user guide as well.

Running Chevereto

Chevereto is a PHP application so the usual php-fpm versus apache debate applies, but we can ignore that debate, since there's an official docker image!

In keeping with Chevereto's outstanding amount of documentation, there's a repo just for docker setup, and an instant start command there:

docker run -d \
  --name chevereto \
  -p 80:80 \
  -e CHEVERETO_DB_HOST=database \
  -e CHEVERETO_DB_USER=chevereto \
  -e CHEVERETO_DB_PASS=user_database_password \
  -e CHEVERETO_DB_PORT=3306 \
  -e CHEVERETO_DB_NAME=chevereto \
  -e CHEVERETO_ASSET_STORAGE_TYPE=local \
  -e CHEVERETO_ASSET_STORAGE_URL=/images/_assets/ \
  -e CHEVERETO_ASSET_STORAGE_BUCKET=/var/www/html/images/_assets/ \
  -v /var/www/html/images/ \
  ghcr.io/chevereto/chevereto:latest

(Remember to replace latest with a proper version with SHA256 sum, eventually)

Of course for Chevereto to talk to the database you'll need to make sure you run a MySQL/MariaDB instance before starting Chevereto.
